Quijota 1st part

One aspect of my projects involves mythology and literature, exploring the deepest recesses of our collective unconscious from a woman’s point of view, using classic texts: Gulliver’s Travels, Don Quixote de la Mancha, and Huckleberry Finn.

From a formal point of view, my work method explores various supports, procedures, and experimental techniques.

Under this title I present a series of experimental works that include various formats and procedures: drawing, painting, photography and mixed media.

This is the second project in wich i use a literary work as a starting point. The travels of Gulliver (Jonathan Swift 1726) and Don Quijote de la Mancha (Miguel de Cervantes 1605), both works have evocative similarities for me in terms of the psychological characteristics of the main characters, as well as the sense of the adventure and surprise trip to the world.

Both stories critically reflect about the society of their time. In my versions, totally free, the figure of the hero is assumed by a female protagonist, in order to question the role of women in our past and our present.
